Our Senior Pastor and Teacher
Our Pastor's name is Daren L. Banks. He was born in Newark, New Jersey but raised in Buffalo, New York. Daren grew up wanting to become a basketball player. He actually started as a point guard on his high school basketball team. He then went to college and majored in Engineering and Minored in Psychology but didn't finish. Still trying to find his way, he decided to join the Navy and served there as an Air Traffic Controller for a few years both in Memphis, TN and on Coronado Island, CA.
After our Pastor's struggles with darkness from drugs, alcohol, failed relationships and several wrong turns in life, he finally accepted God's call on his life to become a born again Christian believer in Jesus at the age of 36. The Lord then led him to Saints Tabernacle COGIC in Los Angeles, CA where the Pastor is Dr. William J. Smith. That changed everything!
On 4/21/2001, our Pastor married our First Lady, Sheron L. Banks (Pastor Banks often refers to her as his Chocolate Ice Cream and Sweet Potato Pie). Combined, they are blessed with 4 children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren. Our Pastor was used by God to establish and lead Relationships In Christ which started back on 10/2/2002.
Pastor Banks loves God and he loves God's people. He believes and often says "Holiness is right"! He believes in leading from the front and not from the back by living the Word of God daily.
